Announcing the acoustic device 'noon by material record' | The first installment of the R&D project themed 'Materials = Earth Resources'.

The first product of the R&D project 'material record' undertaken by the Nomura Co., Ltd. Group, the sound device 'noon by material record,' was announced on Friday, December 13, 2024. It is a joint project between Nomura Medias Co., Ltd. and Nomura Co., Ltd..

 

'material record' is an R&D project promoted by the Nomura Co., Ltd. Group with the theme of 'Materials = Earth's Resources.' In the construction and interior design industry, which consumes vast amounts of resources, we are conducting sustainable research and development starting from materials.
The sound device 'noon by material record' (hereinafter referred to as 'noon') announced this time focuses on the various materials that make up the Earth. It is a speaker set that aims to provide an opportunity to turn our attention to the 'environment' through the 'sounds' emitted by diverse materials, such as construction waste, plastic fragments washed ashore, denim scraps, and fuel tanks that have finished their roles in rocket development.

 

In conjunction with this announcement, a collaboration has been confirmed with the travel circle 'MIDNIGHT PIZZA CLUB,' consisting of three members: actor Taiga Nakano, TV director Ryohei Kamide, and photographer Yusuke Abe. We have installed the 'noon' sound device at the launch event for their book 'MIDNIGHT PIZZA CLUB 1st BLAZE LANGTANG VALLEY' (releasing December 12, 2024), which compiles records of their travels. At the event, photos of Nepal taken by the 'MIDNIGHT PIZZA CLUB' during their journey will be exhibited, and you can listen to ambient sounds created by Ryohei Kamide from audio sources collected during their travels through 'noon'.
