The "The Family of Man Photo Exhibition: A Vision of Human Love and Peace, Once Again" (organized by Nikkei Inc.), commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Nihon Keizai Shimbun, is being held at Nihombashi Takashimaya. Nomura Medias was responsible for the venue construction and other tasks for this exhibition.
"The Family of Man" is a representative photography exhibition of the 20th century, born at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York in 1955 and toured worldwide. In Japan, it was held at Nihonbashi Takashimaya in 1956, and NOMURA Co., Ltd. was responsible for the venue construction at that time. Its advanced exhibition design attracted great attention and greatly influenced subsequent display designs.
In this exhibition, in addition to approximately 115 carefully selected works from the original exhibition, works by photographers from Luxembourg and photojournalists from Nikkei Inc. are on display. While inheriting the philosophy of the historic photo exhibition, it conveys the theme of "human love and peace" to the present day.
