We were in charge of the restoration work for the mechanical clock installed next to the main entrance of "Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport Kawaguchi".
The store opened in May 2025, utilizing the building of the "Sogo Kawaguchi" department store, which closed in 2021. At that time, in response to a request to restart the mechanical performance of the large clock that had been stopped since 2008, Nomura Medias worked on its restoration.
While utilizing the original mechanical mechanisms and performance programs, the music and puppets have been redesigned and reconstructed. In addition to eight "Maneki-neko" (beckoning cat) figures created with the wish that many people and much happiness will visit, a total of 11 mechanical puppets have been installed, including Kawaguchi City's mascot character "Cupolan" and the "Angyo Tohachi" and "Edobukuro" lion dances, which are designated intangible folk cultural assets of Kawaguchi City. When the performance time arrives, the sound of bells rings out, and the mechanical puppets that appear one after another entertain the visitors.
