Rikuzentakata "Miracle Pine Tree"

Rikuzentakata "Miracle Pine Tree"

Created with the goal of preserving the single pine tree of Takata-Matsubara, which survived the tsunami of the Great East Japan Earthquake, as a symbol of reconstruction.
The trunk part uses the actual tree, which has been impregnated with resin for reinforcement, as well as insect-proofing, rot-proofing, and UV-resistant treatment.
Carbon fiber reinforced plastic was used for the structural materials.
The branches and leaves at the top of the pine were molded and made into replicas.
